James R. Galbraith Public Affairs Fellowship (Pat Brown Institute)
The James R. Galbraith Fellowship is a local public policy internship. A native of Michigan, James R. Galbraith was formerly senior vice president of corporate affairs for Hilton Hotels Corporation (1981-1994) and has a professional background in news, government, and corporate affairs. James Galbraith serves on the Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters and on the seven-member international jury that selects the recipient of the annual $1.5 million Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize. Mr. GalbraithΓÇÖs professional accolades are numerous and include receiving the 1993 Ellis Island Medal of Honor along with the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and several national leaders. The Ellis Island Medal of Honor is awarded to Americans who have made freedom, liberty and compassion a part of their life’s work. Mr. Galbraith is an Emeritus member of the Board of Advisers for the Pat Brown Institute.
The Pat Brown Institute is proud to have been chosen as a resource for supporting students advancing their academic pursuits. Galbraith Fellows are outstanding undergraduate or graduate students. Student placements are consistent with the InstituteΓÇÖs established Public Policy Internship and Fellowship Program and include a mutually beneficial political, business, or community worksite opportunity.
Currently, fellowships include up to a $2,500 stipend, consistent with financial aid limitations. This opportunity is open to both full-time and part-time enrolled students.
